in the 3d block puzzles, what do the two circles at the bottom of screen do?

(+1)

once you solve a word, it will show up in the corresponding circle!

such a cool game! i was not expecting the switch from 2D to 3D, all the puzzles were very well done and definitely made my brain work. cant wait for the whole game

really cool concept, got stuck on the bird poo puzzle ): (spoilers) couldnt find a way to follow up the word "clean" with the word "up", and all of the older playthroughs seem to have a previous version of the puzzle, so i am unsure of it is beatable at all. lovely concept and great storytelling, though!

Very creative/cool mechanic to have the character interpretation as a puzzle, and I can't wait to see how the game changes as Tom's life goes on.

Although, in puzzles, it would help if the turning of the blocks wouldn't be so slow, as it feels irritating more than atmospheric to have turning the block take so much time. Also, sometimes when i had solved a puzzle I had to go to the menu and back for the game to register it (although I first thought it was a clever effect, when it appeared in the "give up" puzzle :D)

All in all the idea is very cool for narrative game and I see a lot of potential!

Thank you for playing! The issues mentioned above have now been fixed in the latest v0.1.4 patch

Welp... the title says it all..

Hi everyone! Thanks for playing the demo and for the feedback, and apologies for the radio silence. I was away traveling, and have just returned to full-time development, ready to work on fixes and improvements for the demo. okay, I'm at the very beginning, haven't even finished the first puzzle, but I came to clarify that the Linux version lags very heavily on the first puzzle however the windows version seems to play perfectly, using proton

(+1)

game didn't even work for me :( Was super laggy at the first level, then the game would crash:(((

try downloading the windows version and use wine/proton

good

SLOW

I played up till the game switches into 3D. Most of the puzzles I figured out quite easily besides the "talking about me" puzzle which took me sometime. I think it is an interesting dynamic having insecure thoughts as a puzzle. I would keep in mind, people who haven't been at least a decent amount insecure in the past may struggle to figure these puzzles out (hence the other comments).

Bugs I noticed while playing:

  • Sometimes when blocks turn green they proceed to flash from purple to green
  • in your house the mouse flickers being toggled on and off.

Recommendations:

  • Have (Enter) and/or (Space) be able to select things, it doesn't feel natural selecting with the mouse when the cursor is toggled off
  • Since you use Unity change the rotating speed of the blocks to "time.DeltaTime" so they don't change speed based on the framerate
  • Make it more apparent what the hint block does, it took a while to figure out how to use it

Loved  it! cant wait for the full game

Thanks for the feedback, will implement these in the next update!

I am simply stuck and I don't really feel that sense of progression I was hoping for (sort of like a detective game where you pick up clues that help you). It felt as if I was blindly guessing as the straws of clues I was attempting to grasp at had nothing to do with the puzzle at all (such as the instagram feed). I had a hard time trying to decipher Tom's mental state and discover what his associationn towards things was due to a lack of context built into the environments. I would have loved to continue further however, I was extremely confused with nothing to truly work with other than the hint cube. Perhaps give Tom some dialogue or have some sort of interactive pieces to clue the player into Tom's mind.

Overall, I feel hopeful for this project and only wish for the best.

Here is some footage of me trying your game so that I can give a better feeling of how I interacted with Unwording:

Thanks for the feedback - I have an idea for how to provide more context for each puzzle and will implement it in the next update!

Blocks spin too slowly, Game too laggy

(+3)

The puzzles are rly difficult !! :(

(+4)

I really wanted to play this game but I can't get past the first level

(+3)

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I just randomly spun cubes until I solved the first puzzle and I still don't know what I did??

Please add a tutorial level I feel like this game would be really fun if I could actually know what to do-

(+4)

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely add some sort of a tutorial soon!

(+1)

I feel like this game has a great concept, but I couldn't get past the first level for a multitude of reasons. First, the rotating and moving of the blocks is excruciatingly slow, and its very hard to get the letters upright. It also took me like 5 minutes to figure out that I had to make a new phrase with the puzzle, so some sort of text on the screen to explain would've been nice. I don't know if it's the game or just my computer, but even the mouse moving is glitchy and slow. It's weird because my computer has easily run bigger games.

The other, more minor thing is the sound of the blocks rotating. The fact it plays five times per rotation is just.. It makes me want to scream. At first it didn't bother me, but once it played 20 times in a row it started sounding like someone beckoning me to break my headphones in half. That's probably just my preference with the sound but I wanted to mention it anyways.

Thanks for the feedback - there seems to be some issue with the rotation speed of the cubes and their framerate. Ill take a look and have a fix out soon! Will add a tutorial/ hint system as well.

Really nice game, though in my PC it has a hard time running it and the gameplay is really slow (the cubes rotate and move super slow compared to the trailer video). I think I shouldn't have issues since I can run more complex games without issues but for some reason moving and rotating a couple cubes gives my computer a tough time.

Aside from that I really like the game, it has a great aesthetic and I like the story. Great demo :D

The cubes should rotate quickly - ill take a look at that, thanks

Game is super cute and I really enjoyed it! Could you maybe upload a walkthrough though, since some parts I was really confused about and I think it would be very helpful for others who got stuck on certain puzzles! Other than that, the art was great and story was good too!

Thank you for the kind words! I'll consider adding some sort of a tutorial within the game itself to explain the puzzles.

Amazing demo but I've also been having difficulty with the puzzles, although each revelation is still satisfying. I am truly stuck right now though
